About the Position Company ProfileLocated in Sunshine West, Inotek Timber Systems manufactures and supplies quality Timber frames, trusses and floors.Our main products include Roof Trusses, Wall Frames, Floor Trusses and I-Joists.About This RoleAs a Timber System Designer, you will be responsible for:Detailing and documentationAssessing, costing andquoting forvarious projectsDetailing Roof truss, Floorings and Wall Frames using Multinailsoftware programProviding cost effective and technically accurate design documentation for timber wall, truss and floor production. Identifying inconsistencies and errors between architectural, structural designs and specifications notifying relevant staff and providing alternative design options so they are remedied prior to estimating, production and construction.Provide accurate estimations for construction costsIdentifying the deficiencies in the documents and coordinate with relevant parties to make the necessary changes.Evaluating the details in the construction drawings, product drawings and client requirements to ensure the design and detail is consistent and compliantEnsuring accurate costings for tender processes as neededProject coordinationCommunicating with sales team and liaise with clients to provide technical and after sales support.Coordinating with estimation, production team to meet the delivery targetProviding details in timely manner to production area to achieve the delivery target.Coordinating with construction team by providing necessary details for site installation work.Communication with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details prior to and during construction.Closely monitoring costs during project delivery, identifyingdiscrepancies, and providing solutions for resolution to adhere to estimatesProvide project summaries uponconstruction completionBusiness PerformanceAssist with Manager to manage and maintain the key stakeholder relationshipAssist with Production Manager to meet the production targetKey Skills and CompetenciesMust be degree qualified or minimum 5 years experience in similar Quantity Surveyor roleMinimum two years experience in similar roleStrong practical knowledge and experience of timber manufacturingStrong technical ability in detailing, estimation, fabrication and resolve design issues.Attention to detail and coordination of services.Timberdetailing experience usingMiTek, Pryda or MultiNail is mandatoryProficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systemKnowledge of Basic Building Codes and Standards.Site erection knowledge and understanding “how it will be installed”Strong budgeting and cost analysis skillsHigh level written and verbal communication skills.Organizational skills for keeping track of past, current and upcoming project.Strong leadership and excellent communication skillsExcellent time management skills.Strong team player and positive can-do attitude.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.A demonstrated ability to meet timeframes.ExperienceThe right candidate should present strong experience in timber design and manufacturing.Detailing/Drafting discipline Architectural / Structural with design construction knowledge.Experience of working on building sites, such as site supervisory role will be beneficial.High levelDdetailing & estimation experience with Roof or Floor trusses and wall frames would be beneficial.Extensive Knowledge of detailing and manufacturing of Frame, Trusses and Floor Trusses.A strong attention to detail ability and proven track record of outputs and systems.Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.Be able to travel and be flexible with work arrangement.Culture & BenefitsExcellent team and workplace cultureAttractive salary package and staff benefitsCareer development and unlimited potential for growth.Strong supports from the management team and the board to ensure the success of the business.Young, friendly, innovative, and dynamic work environment.Salary Range$50,000 - $70,000 per Annum + Super dependent upon experience. no -- Principals only.
