An opportunity now exists for a Senior Designer to join our Integrated Services (IES) division based in Melbourne. Working alongside world-leading defence scientists our Integrated Engineering Services division offers multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients. As a Senior Designer, you will be reporting to a Supervisor for Mechanical Design, the successful candidate will be expected to provide engineering design, modelling and drafting support to the DST Research Engineering work program. Key responsibilities of the Senior Designer will include, but not limited to; Develop CAD models of mechanical parts, assemblies and structures and produce drawings for manufacture IAW AS1100 (post review and approval of senior staff). Required to integrate design changes to models and drawings based on feedback from Engineers, Senior Designers and Manufacturing staff. Complete complex design projects under guidance from Design Supervisors, Engineer and Clients and manage developed CAD data and Drawings IAW QinetiQ’s Technical and Quality management procedures. To be successful in the role of Senior Designer, you will need to bring with you; Experience in mechanical design, design or manufacture and development of manufacturing drawings to AS1100 or similar Previous experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, specifically electrical and electronic engineers/designers in the development and detailing of integrated product designs for both prototype and production projects Experience with Autodesk products highly desirable Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
