About the Position Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Structural Engineer join our team based from the client’s Metropolitan Melbourne facilities. This is a lead role, required to supervise a team and provide structural engineering subject matter expertise. Responsibilities + Contributes to the provision of structural engineering services for a client + Produces structural engineering deliverables at a concept level without supervision that comply with local laws and regulations, as well as industry and company codes, standards and practises, including but not limited to drawings, reports and specifications + Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, assess and develop structural designs from field data relevant to the local construction and physical environment + Proficient in SpaceGASS and Strand7 + Ability to develop briefs for third party structural consultants or site investigation companies to deliver inputs relative to the design project + Familiarity with construction methods and standards of local structural contractors and statutory authorities + Coordination of structural engineering studies + Feasibility and conceptual design studies + Documentation of assumptions and assessment of development risks for each option + Strong focus on safety in design + Ability to work independently + Excellent team management skills in a challenging work environment + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential + Must convey a professional image with customers + Possess tertiary qualifications in Structural Engineering + Registered Professional Engineer () preferred but not mandatory + Member of Engineer’s and Chartered Professional Engineer (or on path to achieving) + Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
