About the Position Purpose of the position As part of the grid connection team, you will lead services to support the new generator connection applications, planning and feasibility studies, grid connection studies, power systems analysis and modelling, support GPS development and AEMO approvals process. As required, the role will also involve other line of services beside the grid connection but not limited to, design, commissioning, technical advisory and project management. Responsibilities and duties Deliver electrical engineering services in accordance with the project requirements and applicable technical standards, on time and within budget. The typical responsibilities include performing the following activities : Lead grid connection, planning and feasibility studies Lead RMS and EMT model development and reviews in accordance with AEMO's modelling guidelines Lead the development of technical requirements/ inputs for connection applications, R1/R2, preparation of detailed specifications, data, calculations and reports Lead GPS compliance, testing and validation process Lead the support required for testing andcommissioning for transmission, distribution and generation assets Participate in project development and reporting activities Lead discussions and negotiations with AEMO, TNSPs and project stakeholders Participate in internal review meetings Mentor and train graduate engineers and provide team management and leadership Provide peer and QA review of technical reports, grid connection and other project deliverables Academic and trade qualifications Essential qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably with post-graduate qualification in Power Systems) Desirable qualifications Engineers (EA) membership or applying Work experience and skills Essential experience Good understanding of power system analysis and control systems fundamentals Good understanding of electric power transmission and distribution systems, protection and control systems in substations. Proficiency in PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and Digsilent is a must RMS and EMS model development in accordance with AEMO's modeling guidelines Understanding of generator and customer connection process and requirements. Understanding of network connection and access rules, regulations and procedures, and AEMO’s technical guidelines. Ability to promote a high standard of professionalism, effective communication, and personal integrity within the team. Ability to consult/liaise with clients/stakeholders at all levels and build sustainable relationships.
