It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering modern leisure facilities for those flying in from , , Alice Springs or Darwin.The Role

Are you a Metallurgist with experience in managing and supporting projects? Can you provide leadership and direction to a team of Metallurgists?

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Metallurgist to join our Tanami Operation. You will be responsible for the short and medium term performance and optimisation of the Process Plant as well as providing leadership and direction to the Metallurgy team on site. Key Tasks

Be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, optimisation and reporting of Process Plant performance Maintain and identify opportunities for metallurgical accounting Contribute towards the planning and execution of plant and laboratory trials Manage and provide support to projects within the Processing departmentPrioritising and managing the number of active projects to ensure that they can be resourced and completed in a timely manner Provide assistance in the employee development of Plant Metallurgists, Project Metallurgist, Graduate Metallurgist and Laboratory Technicians About You

Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or a related field Demonstrated experience in a Metallurgy role Prior experience in a gold or base metals and milling operation Excellent communication and team based skills Proven ability to work at a senior or supervisory level Demonstrated mentoring abilitiesAbility to provide clear direction and achieve change Applications close: 28 April 2022.
