Your new company
Our client, a local company specialised in construction of commercial, industrial, residential and government facilities, is recruiting an experienced Site Manager to join its team in Darwin and work on an ambitious Defence Building project in remote NT (FIFO roster).

Your new role
You will be responsible to coordinate the construction works on site and to monitor the delivery of the project (value around $20m) to meet the client and company's requirements for quality, safety, and budget. This is a full-time role with a one-year contract, with a 3:1 roster from Darwin, and a standard working day of 10 hours.
Your key responsibilities will be:                    
                        
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems.
  •                     
  • Regular internal auditing to ensure conformance to requirements.
  •                     
  • Monitor subcontractor scope of works.
  •                     
  • Monitor the project construction schedule.
  •                     
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, liaise with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to discuss and resolve issues.
  •                     
  • Oversee subcontractor daily operations.
  •                     
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, analyse various cost/construction options to determine most cost-effective alternatives.
  •                     
  • Daily and fortnightly programming.
  •                     
                    

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:                    
                        
  • Experience in a Supervisor role on a Construction site in the commercial Building sector.
  •                     
  • Certificate 4 in Building Construction or Trade Certificate.
  •                     
  • Leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  •                     
  • Understanding of WHSE legislative requirements and ability to communicate this to staff.
  •                     
  • Ability to manage risks and identify any possible or actual risk throughout life of project.
  •                     
  • Competent in crisis and conflict management with subcontractors.
  •                     
  • White Card.
  •
