About the Position About the BusinessDJ Skinner & JJ Skinner & Skinner Family Trust, trading as Skinner Partnership is a 4000acre dairy farm located appoximately 3km south of Dubbo. We milk 700 cows, twice a day on a 60 cow rotary.About the roleThe Dairy Cattle Farmer role is a full time position that offers job security.The position involves all day to day work of our dairy farm operation. The applicant would always be working with or under the supervision of a family member and joining a staff of 10 others.This role includes all aspects of milk production including:management and coordination of the milking shed routineimplementation and monitoring of quality assurance procedures ensuring compliance through current and relevant documentationsupervising of the animal health programs ensuring optimal environments as outlined in the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines - Cattle.implementation of calving proceduresimplementation of livestock feeding plans including maintenance of pastures and cropsoperating of plant and machinery, including 4 wheel bikes and tractors.Skills and experienceWe require the applicant to have the following capabilities and experience to:implement milking systems, animal herd health and reproductive systemsoperate all farm machinery and report if equipment/farm infrastructure requires servicing and general maintenanceimplement livestock feeding plans implementation of animal health programs. Examples of which include calving cows, tubing colostrum to calves, identifying and treating mastitis, sore eyes and general herd well-being Experience with using herd management programs such as easy dairy.For this full time position we expect the applicant would have 1 - 3+ years recent working experience, good English including spoken, written and mathematical ability and the ability to work as part of a team.Pay rate varies, depending on your level of experience, which we will assess and advise after a review of your resume and an interview. no -- Principals only.
