In this new challenging and varied role, you will partner with multiple groups across Macquarie in relation to the groups’ sustainability reporting and be responsible for the accounting policy teams role in relation to sustainability reporting including the linkage to financial statements. As part of a broader accounting policy and advisory team, lead theteam’s sustainability disclosure interpretation expertise across multiple jurisdictions taking ownership of evolving sustainability reporting standards and relevant stakeholders in this space.Become the go-to person for this area of expertise and be charged with promotion of that specialism, including proactively communicating insights from the development of sustainability reporting standards. Clearly communicate complex topics and issues to non-specialists and be able to interpret and practically apply the relevant standards. As part of your role and where relevant you will be responsible for devising and maintaining relevant guidance and frameworks to support technical conclusions.You will develop and maintain your network within and external to the organisation to support you in providing such interpretation as well as relevant industry insights. Further, you will devise training strategies and present on the developing standards in both informal workshops and formal presentations bringing to life sustainability reporting requirements in Macquarie’s commercial context. You will strategically partner with your stakeholders, pro-actively engaging on stakeholder areas of focus, being across underlying developments.Key to your success in this role will be your intellectual curiosity and ability to grasp complex concepts quickly coupled with your interpretation skill set from either a sustainability disclosure and/or technical accounting experience. You will be either a Chartered Accountant with Technical Accounting experience, either within a Big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm or in an Accounting Policy team.
