Your new role
Supporting management and staff in achieving WHS compliance in respect of their work health and safety legislative obligations and providing WHS coaching and advice to senior management and line supervisors, staff and contractors; Assist in implementation of asbestos/hazardous material management policies and procedures; Assist in planning and monitoring ongoing asbestos/hazardous material surveys and remediation action plans conducted across all locations Evaluate contractor performance (occupational hygienists, asbestos assessors, asbestos removalists) to ensure adherence to WHS Regulation and codes of practice; Administer and continuous improvement of the hazard register to collect/maintain asbestos/hazardous material survey information.
What you'll need to succeed
Must be an Australian Citizen (Federal Government Organisation)
Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Occupational Hygiene, or a related discipline Some experience in providing WHS advice and support based on legislation and best practice Entry level experience or knowledge of asbestos and contaminated site management experience Successful completion of BOHS IP402 - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings course and/or asbestos assessor licence (desirable but not essential).

Permanent, full time role within a Federal Government organisation. Hourly rate of up to $60 per hour + super for experienced candidates. Starting rate of $40 per hour + super for recent WHS graduates (must have WHS or Occupational Hygiene Quals) Work within a competitive government organisation, in conjunction with scientists, engineers, construction developers and more.
