POSITION SUMMARY: The Principal Functional Consultant role is responsible for understanding their allocated business units' forward strategy, business model and systems supporting their business operations. They are also accountable to guide process design, system design, implementation for new system, enhancements and defect resolution. The Principal Functional Consultant works closely with agile teams ensuring that the business objectives are achieved, and benefits realised. The role will also be called upon to perform project management or analytical roles where required. Accountabilities: Understand your business units' forward strategy, business model and systems supporting their business operations; also accountable to guide process design, system design, implementation for new system, enhancements and defect resolution. Provide innovative advice to stakeholders in relation to functional requirements and design opportunities including cross program implications. Lead identification and realisation of benefits through strategy, design and build improvements in the effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of the department's technology-enabled operations through more integrated processes, streamlined workflows and contemporary systems and tools. Works closely with teams ensuring that the business objectives are achieved and benefits realised. Will be called upon to perform project management or analytical roles where required. Plan, lead and facilitate workshops with relevant stakeholders to define the business problem, efficiency gain or improved customer opportunity. Maintain knowledge of and leverage emerging technologies that will improve resource efficiency, quality of service or improved outcomes for Victorian citizens. Provide advice on improvement opportunities and system design options to meet the needs of system users and program areas; adding value to current and future service delivery. Lead the team's adherence to the government, IDS and SSU's strategies, policies and methodologies (e.g. PDM). Create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement which is reflected in system solutions, platforms / infrastructure and program delivery. Maintain knowledge of new and evolving technologies and work closely with the Solutions, Enablement & QA team to ensure solutions meet approved application and enterprise architecture. Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
