Today, we employ more than 11,600 people around the world, and our product portfolio includes property, motor, crop, energy, marine and aviation insurance.The role The Financial Risk Advisory and Governance team sits within the Financial Risk Management team (Line 2) and owns the Model Risk Management framework, oversight over the Group and Division capital including the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Economic Capital Modelling (ECM) and deep dives into key financial risks.In this role, you will undertake reviews and make recommendations to improve the Group ECM and Model Risk Management framework to further embed these in key business functions across QBE including Finance, Actuarial, Pricing, Reinsurance and Investment. As owner of the Model Risk Management framework we may be required to provide independent validation of certain key models (including insurance related models) within the Group or to support strategic initiatives from a risk challenge perspective. Therefore, this role will be suitable for a candidate with experience in general insurance or similar actuarial work.How will I help? A day in the role may look a bit like this: Develop accurate and timely models or analysis to support FRM and business needs.

Deep dive analysis for key business functions requiring a review.

Provide validation services to the QBE Group across key financial risks.

Working with Division and Group stakeholders around adherence or refinement to Model Risk Management Policy and Framework. Lead and develop reporting tools and dashboard to support oversight of all business critical models.

Involve in project/ strategic initiatives to provide Line 2 advice/ challenge to business stakeholders.

Providing advice on the appropriate mathematical models used to quantify the key financial risks.

Maintain a strong network with actuarial and other risk professionals both across the QBE Group and externally.

Contribute fully to the FRM team, including ensuring that team and individual goals are balanced, tracked to support achievement, and recognised appropriately.

What do I need? To be successful as Manager, Financial Risk Oversight and Governance you will have: 5+ years’ experience in general insurance or actuarial consulting as this will be critical

Advanced modelling, data analytics and validation skills

Experience influencing key stakeholders with concise analysis and papers.

Ability to convey information clearly and confidently to a wide audience

Skills in Microsoft Products, SQL, Python, R and other data analytics and risk tools.
