Your new role

The role will champion work health and safety engagement across the business by coaching and mentoring leaders in practices that support and protect the health, safety, and welfare of our employees. Key to the role will be an emphasis of environmental sustainability given the unique environment in which the role is located. Partnering with local leaders (both PES and Client) and frontline employees, the HSE Advisor will facilitate and lead the development, implementation, auditing and review of the Health and Safety Management system. The role will drive risk management initiatives & strategies and will target best practice levels of legislative compliance in an environment of continuous improvement. Provide functional assistance and advice to site management to ensure compliance with all relevant Safety and Environmental statutory regulations and Group HSE Management System requirements, incident investigation and management Conduct safety induction programs for new starters Assist the sites with HSE hazard identification and risk assessment activities, including maintenance of current risk registers and development and assessment of effective risk controls Support the site to conduct HSE incident investigations to determine root causes, contributing factors and corrective actions and to communicate key learnings. Conduct compliance, HSE Management Standards and specialist inspections or audits at sites, work with site management to develop recommendations to address deficiencies identified. Schedule and deliver HSE compliance and operational training to employees, as required and in accordance with procedures, standards, and legislation.
What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications in occupational health and safety, or other relevant disciplines Experience in a Health & Safety role in either mining, oil & gas or transport industries. Previous experience in blue-collar industry environments desirable where heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment is operated. Certification to deliver and assess training in accordance with Australian standard Certificate IV in Training Assessment is desirable. Ability to write detailed reports and other functional documents including JSA's, Formal Risk Assessments & Safe Work Instructions. Previous experience in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences Able to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments. Ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Able to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
