Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) provides healthcare across secure inpatient, custodial, court and community settings. We deliver healthcare services to adults and young people who come into contact with, or who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system. Each year, Justice Health NSW staff care for more than 30,000 patients in our settings through dedicated in-person and virtual multidisciplinary teams. Our healthcare services include primary, mental health and specialty care services. This includes screening, acute and chronic care, as well as preventative health services to those identified with a health need. The Role
The newly created role of General Manager, Forensic Mental Health reports to the Chief Executive, Wendy Hoey, and is responsible for leading the operational functions, development, implementation and co-ordination of Justice Health NSW forensic mental health services. The role will lead and direct the physical, financial and human resources of adult custodial and youth detention mental health and forensic mental health services including the Forensic Hospital and Long Bay Hospital - Mental Health Units. These services deliver international best practice and clinical outcomes for patients in contact with the NSW forensic mental health and criminal justice systems, across courts, community, inpatient and custodial settings. The role will provide expert strategic, authoritative and innovative delivery leadership of custodial and forensic mental health services, working closely with Chief Executive, the executive management team and Board. The role has budget responsibility for $90m and c500 staff.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a contemporary executive leader able to demonstrate significant achievement across a broad spectrum of areas including mental health, clinical operations, strategic planning and delivery, workforce management and clinical governance. You will display outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders across all disciplines of the health profession as well as across a diverse patient community. Essential requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Health Management and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, experience and training.
This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1 role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $239,483 - $263,586 per annum with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant. We also offer generous relocation allowances and free parking in some locations.
The role will be based from Sydney, either Malabar or Sydney Olympic Park, given this is where the majority of the executive team are based, however the organisation operates state-wide so a degree of travel will be required. Flexible work modes are supported.
