About the Position Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Children's Cancer Centre - Monash Children's Hospital

Our Journey Monash Children's Hospital (MCH) is co-located next to Monash Medical Centre in Clayton and is a purpose-built paediatric facility caring for more than 100,000 children per year, and providing care across the continuum of paediatric services from birth to 18 years of age. Part of MCH is Reef Unit, home to the Children’s Cancer Centre, our day oncology unit. The centre provides a comprehensive multidisciplinary model of care to children and young people with cancer and haematological conditions. Reef Unit cares for approximately 30% of ’s childhood cancer patients with state of the art facilities including 9 dedicated cancer inpatient beds and a comprehensive, multidisciplinary outpatient with 12-day treatment beds.A day in the life No two days will be the same as our Reef Unit delivers clinical services in a child and family-friendly environment, as well healthcare breakthroughs made possible via the Monash Health Translational Precinct (MHTP). As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANM) in Reef, you will thrive on the challenge that comes from working in a fast paced setting, knowing you are well supported by highly skilled Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Administrative teams. As an ANM on Reef you will:Take responsibility for co-ordinating the flow of our clinic Play a central role in working with our multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Actively engage in Quality and Improvement Initiatives across our unit Act as a mentor and provide support and guidance for all of our staffWe currently have a temporary Part Time role (.84 EFT) working across a Monday to Friday roster About you This is a clinical leadership role representing an integral link between the nursing and leadership team. You are approachable, articulate, and a mentor who leads by example. You thrive supporting your nurses whilst working closely with the Nurse Manager to help drive the operational requirements and key performance indicators (KPI’s) of the department. Your commitment this allows you to deliver outstanding patient and family centred paediatric cancer care.
