Deathrow Unchained is in great need of more volunteers for our awesome pig squad. If you think that this is something that you would be interested in, we would absolutely love to hear from you! Duties may include: * Welfare checks to ensure their health and wellbeing* Ensuring that they have enough food/water* Making sure they have a safe environment* Assisting with maintaining their pens* Ensuring that they have clean and secure wallowsAs we work with pigs who have experienced traumatic events, we value:???? A willingness to learn and share previous knowledge you have with animals???? The ability to understand and work with animals who have experienced trauma???? Must be able to commit to either a weekly or fortnightly shift of 2-3 hours. Generally these shifts 7am & 2pm daily.  Ideally you should have an up-to-date tetanus shot. All volunteers are required to go through sanctuary training, then specific pig team training. Previous knowledge with pigs is advantageous but not required.  A safety waiver and social media agreement will need to be signed along with participating in a tour before commencing volunteering. To volunteer you need to be over 18 years. Deathrow Unchained Animal Sanctuary is a rescue organisation for farm and domestic animals. The property is situated in Burbank, QLD and is currently home to over 180 rescue animal residents. While most farm animals will remain residents of the property, our domestic animal programs work to rehome as many cats and dogs as possible to reduce the ever-growing number of animals in pounds and on the streets. If you think this is right for you, please contact us.
