Deathrow Unchained Animal Sanctuary is home to a cuddly, loving tribe of rescue goats & sheep. As our heard is growing, we too also need to grow.  We are looking for volunteers to give these sweet, although cheeky guys the love and attention they deserve! If you think that this is something that you would be interested in, we would absolutely love to hear from you.The duties may include:    •    Hearding into overnight accommodation (pm shift)    •    Checking out of accommodation (am shift)     •    Grooming and enrichment     •    Welfare checks to ensure their health and wellbeing    •    Providing general medical treatment     •    Rolling out hay bales into paddock    •    Making sure they have a safe and secure environment    •    Assisting with maintaining their yards and shelters (yes poo pick up is included)    •    Ensuring their water holders are clean and filledTraining will be provided. Previous knowledge with animals is advantageous but not required.As we work with animals who have experienced traumatic events, we value????A willingness to learn and share previous knowledge you have with animals????The ability to understand and work with animals who have experienced trauma???? Must be able to commit to either a weekly or fortnightly shift of 2-3 hours. Generally these shifts are 7am & 2:30pm daily. Ideally you should have an up-to-date tetanus shot. All volunteers are required to go through sanctuary training, then specialist team training. A safety waiver and social media agreement will need to be signed along with participating in a tour before commencing volunteering. To volunteer you need to be over 18 years.Deathrow Unchained Animal Sanctuary is a rescue organisation for farm and domestic animals. The property is situated in Burbank, QLD and is currently home to over 180 residents. While most farm animals will remain residents of the property, our domestic animal programs work to rehome as many cats and dogs as possible to reduce the ever-growing number of animals in pounds and on the streets. If you think this is right for you, please contact us.
