The incumbent is responsible for advising the EHS Manager of appropriate safety criteria for the conduct of safe construction operations.Responsibilities/Duties Responsible for overseeing the safety of construction and maintenance activities across the facility, conducting regular safety inspections at all work sites. Inspects workshops, machines, tools, equipment, structures, and facilities for safety hazards, recommends corrective action for safety discrepancies, and follows up through line management.Monitors activities for compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety standards, codes, regulations, and practices Investigates accidents to determine their cause, recommends corrective action to eliminate future similar accidents and prepares reports. Checks for proper use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, respirators, and other protective clothing/equipment.Checks for compliance with safe loads and material handling requirements. Participates in safety committee meetings as required, assists in the preparation, development, and revision of safety procedures. Ensures all employees are familiar with the requirements for safety inspections, accident and incident investigations and the goals and objectives of the safety programEnsure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements Any other reasonable duties as requested QUALIFICATIONS Certificate IV in Safety Management Five years related experience which includes safety inspection and accident investigation Must possess working knowledge of the Australian Work Health Safety Act 2011Drivers License Certificate IV– Workplace Training and Assessment Applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including referee checks, Criminal History check and a pre-employment medical assessment.
