Large and rapidly growing QLD Government Org. is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to oversee and deliver sourcing and contract management activities across the departmental portfolio. This department is unable to consider candidates who are currently employed with the Government as either a permanent employee or a temporary employee on a fixed term contract. Public servant flexible work conditions are not available for contingent . The Job….. Reporting to the Manager, Procurement in this versatile Procurement and Contracts role, you will be responsible for: Manage procurement activities to ensure best practice, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities. Lead by example in delivering highly complex and/or sensitive procurement services for the department.Provide assistance in the development of and support procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes. Manage contracts through post-award lifecycle as the single point of contact for suppliers on all contract matters. Establish and maintain operational practices for monitoring, reporting, and strategy identification of contract performance and compliance.Liaise with customers to understand their“local/operational” requirements and recommend convincing solutions that support whole of Government and agency aligned goals. Assist in building the procurement capability of staff by developing the knowledge and skills of team members and key stakeholders. You….. To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following: Qualifications in Procurement and Contract Management and/or relevant experience in the QITC framework, ICT Contract and Vendor management is highly regarded. Demonstrate experience in procurement and contract management, probity, governance, monitoring and reporting activities.Strong organisational skills. Understand and support departmental strategic frameworks and apply to new or existing initiatives. Demonstrate effective negotiation, influencing and professional written and oral communication skills to confidently articulate messages and achieve organisational outcomes.Establish and manage the ongoing development of productive working relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and team members.
