About the Position Fire Protection Engineer Role based in Melbourne.

Your new role and responsibilities
Responsible for designing, documenting, and coordinating the fire services for company projects. Enhancing knowledge and comprehension of Australian standards, building regulations, local industry practices, and authority requirements and procedures. Creating high-quality technical design drawings within specified timelines, budgets, and scope. Proficient in reviewing and comprehending engineer's intentions/markups and transforming them into documentation. Cultivating positive relationships with engineers, architects, and project managers. Collaborating with other design/drafting staff in the office and being a team player. Conducting engineering design tasks, such as calculations, reports, and submissions to authorities. Gaining an understanding of all building services.
What you'll need to succeed
Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience working for a consultancy firm in the industry. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrated experience using HYENA software, with the ability to perform Fire Hydrant and Sprinkler calculations. Proficient in AutoCAD with an interest in developing skills in Revit. In-depth understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards, such as AS2118.1, AS2118.2, AS2118.4, AS2118.6, AS2419.1, and AS2941. Experience in collaborating with stakeholders, including Fire Rescue , Building Surveyors, etc. Thorough knowledge of the FRV R129 process and a desire to manage R129 applications. Capable of interpreting Fire Engineering Reports. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
