About the Position Open Pit Mine Geologist with base metals experience required for industry renowned mining company

This industry renowned base metals mining company who has multiple operations across , is looking for a Mine Geologist to join their busy team. You would be working at one of the company's open-cut nickel mines in WA.

Your new role
As a self-motivated and experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist joining the Geology team, you will be responsible for the day to day leadership of open pit geological activities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Grade control processes including ore block definition, daily delineation of ore blocks and mark-ups and supervision of more mining Supervise in-pit grade control drilling campaigns including logging and interpretation of results Conduct routine pit mapping Grade control production tracking and reporting Provide assistance to Senior Mine Geologist when required Provide supervision and instruction to Pit technicians
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in Geology Current Australian Manual Driver's licence Previous experience in a similar role, open pit mining, preferably working with nickel Good knowledge of mine production and grade control practices Working knowledge of Datamine and Leapfrog Previous experience dealing with stakeholders and supervising contract miners Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
