Our experts work in collaboration with partners within the national sporting system to create and deliver high performance support services and environments to prepare athletes and coaches for international competition.About the roleNSWIS is looking for experienced, passionate, and motivated people who have a coaching background in acrobatics and skill learning, to work with our Coaches and performance teams of action-based winter sport and diving programs and to undertake project work, where applicable, with Olympic sports such as skate, BMX freestyle and surfing.The primary purpose of the role is to add value to the daily training environment, through design of suitable practice that enhances the development of physical condition, fundamental movement and acrobatic skills that underpin and enables athletes to execute complex and superior skill required for elite performance.You will work closely with the Wintersport and/or Diving program Head coaches, their performance team, and athletes, contributing to the development of the individual athlete’s performance plan (IAPP), and work with athletes within their DTE as designed to enhance their acrobatic skill development and positively impact their performance.Whilst NSWIS is offering this role as a full-time role, it is also considering offering as two part-time roles. This is due to geographical location and the extended periods required within each program. The Wintersports and Diving programs are based at the National Snowsport Training Centre (Jindabyne), and the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (Homebush); respectively. The offering salary range is between $105,391-$110,255 plus employer superannuation (full-time role) which will be negotiable based on the successful candidates experience and demonstrated competency. Part-time salaries will be offered pro-rata of full-time role. The contract period is until 31 December 2024 in line with the Olympic cycle.  For further information about the role and the key accountabilities please see the job description. About youYou will have:                  
                      
  • Extensive knowledge of the gymnastics acrobatic skill curriculum, skill learning and trick development, coaching methodology and pre-brief /de-brief approaches.
  •                   
  • Understanding the key levers for high performance delivery to achieve national/international success.
  •                   
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of an acrobatics skill learning curriculum.
  •                   
  • Demonstrated coaching experience in working with athletes in an acrobatic sport program. This will include exceptional spotting technique, coaching of athletes on trampolines, use of harness and other key apparatus.
  •                   
  • Passion and enthusiasm, effective communication, the ability to plan, prioritise and to work collaboratively with NSWIS sport program coaches and athletes within a high performance sport daily training environment.
  •                   
  • Knowledge of creating and implementing child safe environments and uphold processes to ensure (athletes, coaches, and staff) are treated with respect and dignity and are protected from bullying, discrimination, harassment, or abuse including the use of language such that feedback: is non-discriminatory, prejudicial and/or abusive; but rather is constructive, encouraging and motivational.

 Essential Requirements                  
                      
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Movement, Coaching, Sport Science, or related field.
  •                   
  • Relevant Gymnastics coaching qualification (acrobatic, tumbling and/or trampoline).
  •                   
  • Coaching experience in acrobatics related sport.
  •                   
  • Sport Integrity  - Anti-Doping Fundamentals and annual update 2023.
  •                   
  • Sport Integrity Australia – PBTR – Child Protection and Safeguarding
  •                   
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
  •                   
  • Working with Children Check
  •                   
  • Proof of up-to-date immunisation (COVID-19).
