Our client, PUMPNSEAL is a specialized supplier of process pumps, pumping systems and sealing solutions for many industries including Oil & Gas, Mining, Civil, Industrial and Commercial operations We are seeking a motivated self-starter that requires little direction, has a hands-on approach, is able to trouble shoot and prioritize competing work demands. Ideally, someone with a background working on process pumps, particularly centrifugal types and other rotating equipment. Capability in mechanical seal and repair, laser alignment and/ or welding will be highly regarded but not essential. If you have a great attention to detail and take ownership of the quality of your work. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Disassemble, clean, inspect and measure pumps, mechanical seals, valves and other equipment Assemble, measure, record and test pumps, mechanical seals, valves and other equipment Assemble new or overhauled equipment as per provided specifications Modify and/or machining of components and equipment as necessary Spray painting of equipment & components when relevant to job Ensure the quality of the work performed meets the Service Centre and Company standards Housekeeping of service centre workshop & equipment to ensure daily/regular cleaning and maintenance to a high standard including returning tools to designated location Complete your timesheet (daily) and write basic ad-hoc reports in the ERP system when required Participate and contribute to toolbox meetings (daily), scheduled Safety toolbox and other meetings Carry out on-site project/job works as assigned by the Service Centre Manager and/or Supervisor Attend and complete all training and development relevant to the position (internal & external) Facilitate Apprentice internal job training when required or as directed SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Hold a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Machinist with minimum 2+ years' post apprenticeship working on process pumps, particularly centrifugal pumps and other rotating equipment Experience in Mechanical Seal service and repair, TIG/ARC Welding and Laser alignment Ability to interpret mechanical drawings Fault finding and trouble shooting skills Experience in a service-related industry Have a strong focus on safety, high quality work and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Hold a current Drivers' Licence Hours: 81hrs per fortnight/9-day roster Salary Range: $40-$44 per hour + superannuation guarantee
