About the Role This is an exciting for those with an established business development profile to deliver diverse projects with significant social impact. We're looking for someone with a strategic mindset and creative approach to help build meaningful connections between our Faculty and the arts industry. You'll have the chance to make valuable contributions to business development practice within the University and join a collaborative team that values knowledge sharing.Reporting to Business Development Cluster Lead, the Business Development Manager (FFAM) works within the Innovation and Enterprise team, embedded into the Faculty, to create commercial opportunities by connecting academics with industry to form valuable partnerships with significant social impact.You will establish and manage trusted, meaningful relationships with Faculty staff, evaluate opportunities, manage projects, and align with activities with Faculty goals and be supported by a range of internal resources to achieve positive outcomes. Your responsibilities will include: Collaborate with Faculty executives, academics, and professional staff to support the development and implementation of the Faculty business development plan.Build and manage customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and generate new leads. Coordinate teams to deliver business development opportunities and contribute to the development of commercial engagement pipelines. Work with Faculty and RIC colleagues to evaluate and develop projects, identify new technologies, and contribute to the improvement of systems and processes.Who we are looking for You will have a natural enthusiasm and energy for business development, with a strategic mindset for identifying growth opportunities coupled with a self-motivated, positive attitude. Your excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities enable you to build deep, meaningful connections with internal and external stakeholders. You will be a constructive and contributing team player, able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and changing work environment.You will also have: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline plus prior experience in a business development role, preferably in a university or other relevant environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Previous participation in commercial projects and/or contribution to the development of commercial proposals, budgets and contract requirements.The ability to manage multiple and complex stakeholder relationships and make appropriate prioritisation decisions. Prior experience in a Business Development role in either a higher education/research/arts setting, and/or an established network within the arts community would be highly regarded.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.
