About the Position National Nuclear Security Administration 8160BR Job Description Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems. Begin using SRNS systems and meeting SRNS requirements with minimal supervisory guidance. Accepts complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionals. Incorporate conventional or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning. Provide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals. Carry out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problems. Develop alternate solutions to existing problems. Perform all detail work necessary to determine best solutions. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignment. May delegate portions of the detail work to less senior personnel. Prepare costs and schedule estimates on proposed projects/tasks in assigned area. Demonstrate cost and schedule consciousness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projects. Prepare manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing the technical effort. Demonstrate creative ability through medium of patent disclosures, problem solving, engineering reports, technical papers and articles.

NNSA has established the Nuclear Enterprise Assurance (NEA) program to manage and mitigate adversarial subversion risks to the integrity and resilience of nuclear weapons, their components, and supply chains. This position supports the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility and the SRS pit production mission. The configuration, hardening, guidance, response, and analysis of OT systems will aid in reduction and containment of cybersecurity risks to the National Nuclear Deterrent. Duties for this position include:* Design and perform cyber assurance procedures for Operational Technology (OT) components, such as industrial control systems, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, and interfaces with IT systems. * Develop cyber assurance capabilities, processes, and procedures. * Investigate emerging issues, anomalies, and alerts related to OT devices that originate from threat detection, supply chain, and/or production operations.* Work in cross-functional teams to identify, assess, neutralize, exploit, detect, and/or defend against cyber system vulnerabilities, risks, and resulting physical or mission impacts. * Collaborate with other cyber security and experts from other NNSA sites, as well as the intelligence community.* Provide threat, vulnerability, and consequence analysis for OT systems to inform decision-making.
