About the Position Our client, a well-respected leader in the Automotive Sales/Manufacturing industry are experiencing significant growth and are now looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead their finance function and financial strategy to commence in July 2023. This critical role will be based at their Dandenong South facility in .Key Actions for this role are as follows: Establish strong financial systems for operations and reporting which will take us to the next level as we scale. Our operations, external spend, capital deployed, and team size is growing fast. This means our financial processes, systems and reporting need to keep pace with the high growth phase of the business. Our hands-on CFO will:Establish, own and operate the traditional finance&accounting functions, including preparation of board materials, management and statutory accounts, supporting the financial planning cycle with the leadership team, overseeing audit and taxation compliance, and oversight of the payroll, accounts receivable and payable functions. Develop and implement measurement, reporting, and management processes on key metrics to ensure performance against our financial and strategic priorities: including cash and working capital management, profitability performance, and control of operating costs.Ensure best practice is implemented across financial and management reporting, to generate maximum insight for key stakeholders and business leaders Architect real-time and automated tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and Board and make actionable recommendations on strategy.Update financial management processes, our internal financial control framework, as well as related infrastructure (e.g., IT systems) to prepare us for scale and ensure appropriate controls are in place and operating effectively. Ensure sales and operational teams deliver our financial objectives.Develop strategy for how we raise and deploy capital and manage our funds, positioning the business for growth. We require our CFO to bring strong perspectives and lead our strategy on everything from how we bring in capital (equity, debt, securitization), how we make money (customer payment terms and pricing), how we spend money (spend control and governance), and ultimately how we manage our cashflow (incl. working capital, supplier payments, tax and incentives). As part of this outcome, our CFO will:Lead financial decision-making, advising the Executive Leadership team on strategies to foster growth and other objectives. Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Leadership team to evaluate new markets, channels, and partnership opportunities. Lead the company's corporate development efforts. Maximise the organisation’s financial strength through effective cash flow management and appropriate investment and capital raising strategies.About you: To succeed in this role, you will need; Proven track record of driving the performance of a high growth mid-market industrial products business, ideally with exposure to global markets and manufacturing operations in the APAC region; Strong capability in cashflow management, forecasting and vendor and debtor management;Affinity with business systems, financial processes, manufacturing and inventory management Capability to build strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders / industry contacts; Competency in financial management, which will include knowledge of IFRS, local taxation regime and rules and a deep understanding of inventory management in a manufacturing environment, risk management, cost control and investment studies and analyses;Experience working with the CEO and Board to develop the strategic planning and decision-making processes; Strategic analysis of financial performance and feedback to the management team; Ensure a robust Risk Management framework is in place to effectively manage and mitigate business risks Provide senior level financial management expertise, including taxation, compliance, asset management, insurance, reporting and legal issues.Sound management, leadership, mentoring and development of the finance team; Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data and identify risks and opportunities; Be a self-sufficient leader able to provide perspectives at a Board and C-level A passion for and commitment to driving continuous improvement throughout the business.Have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, business administration or related field and be CPA-qualified. Have practical experience building and maintaining financial systems and models&knowledge of relevant software (Xero or similar as well as ERP software for management; Excel for reporting).
